So Miss K went for another of her random trips. This time it was to Oslo… and she loved it.

Oslo is clearly a cosmopolitan city with history, cultural life, palaces, theaters, cinemas, ethnic majorities, boulevard and a horrible central station. But you can catch the underground and in 15min you are in mountains, just off a couple of ski slopes, beautiful forests, walking past little wooden cottages on mountain cliffs, surrounded by the sea (Oslo fjord, oh yes). Very refreshing.

Oslo, yes, IS very expensive. But the pay is according me thinks. Of course, the choice of goods is compared to London still limited and the price level is just strange. Going out is a big expense, catching a night bus or a cab even worse. But I think it’s worth it – IF you have the income. There ARE jobs (unlike in Sweden) and studentjobs and part-time jobs, there are blond sporty people around, there are many parks and trees and a lot of green, there are tigg.. baggers I mean, there is a lot of Munch, there is history and old buidlings, there is the repulsive Oslo Rådhus (City Hall), there are tourists, there are Scandinavian loud young girls ultrafashiongangs (which reminds me: check out what is in course in Sweden atm), shops are closed on Sundays, Norwegians speak as little as Swedes, etc.

It was very pleasant. You can study there, work at the same time AND there is a life “vid sidan av det” (besides it).

A very welcome and exhilarative break from the tight Uppsala.

Anna: I promise I’ll come again. Still a lot of places to be visited! :) Plus I miss you already. Was also very nice to hang out with you, crash into your place, meet Svein and the whole UCL gang!

Vojta: Norwegians DO understand Swedish very well. They even thought it was cute :) probably because of all these mistakes I made.

All: bilder finns (pictures exist), but I was using Anna’s camera loads. She was so nice and promised to burn the pics and send the DVD/CD to me. So as soon as I get it.. be prepared. It has a lot of Oslo’s inner spirit in it and my personal moments of happiness and interest. For more precise pictures I would recomment Google’s database. Oh yes, I have some camera pics, check out Rajce for them :)
